Daphne, Ala. (November 15, 2023) – Baldwin Bone & Joint is pleased to announce the addition of Judith E. Blake, PA-C to the clinical team of Pain Management Specialist Dr. Elliott Pennington. As a certified physician assistant with the orthopaedic practice, Blake specializes in interventional pain management and physical medicine rehab.
“Chronic pain management is a complex issue, and we have to approach it from different angles,” Blake said. “Sometimes that means medication if needed, interventional procedures, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and support services to help with the effects chronic pain can have on a patient’s quality of life.” (Photo: Judith Blake, PA-C)
Blake began her career by earning a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science at the University of South Alabama in 2014 - graduating Summa Cum Laude. She immediately moved on to Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia, where she completed a Master of Science in 2016, specializing in the physician assistant track and graduating Magna cum Laude.
Before joining the team at The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint, Blake spent six years working as an orthopaedic physician assistant in Mobile, Al. There Blake specialized in helping patients manage their pain relief, as she is well-versed in the potential dangers and side effects of high-risk pain medications.
“A patient can experience a lot of anxiety when telling their story, while also hoping that it’s not falling on deaf ears. I am committed to developing a rapport with patients and assuring them that I’m listening and that I care,” Blake said. “I love to see my patients take charge of their health, and to start to see the results from the treatments we provide. It’s so rewarding to be a part of their journey from feeling overwhelmed and hopeless, to enjoying a quality of life beyond the limits of chronic pain.”
