The Baldwin County Commission’s Department of Council on Aging had a busy, yet successful
Medicare Open Enrollment season which lasted from October 15, 2023, through December 7,
2023. During this time, the Council on Aging reported a 28% increase in clients with savings and
a 95% increase in the amount of savings when compared to the 2022 Medicare Open Enrollment
numbers.
Five counselors helped a total of 1,723 clients during this period with 584 of those clients
receiving savings totaling $964,884.72.
During open enrollment each year, Medicare recipients are encouraged to have their insurance
