Introducing the Infirmary Health Sunshine Sprint: Bay Minette’s new 8K Race
and 1-Mile Fun Run
Bay Minette, Ala. – Infirmary Health is thrilled to announce a new fall event: Sunshine Sprint.
Scheduled for September 28, 2024, Sunshine Sprint will feature an 8K race and 1-mile fun run.
The race will start on the campus of North Baldwin Infirmary and will wind through historic
downtown Bay Minette. This inaugural race marks the retirement of the beloved RIDEYELLOW
charity bike ride. After 15 years of remarkable success, the race will pave the way for a fresh
and new invigorating tradition.
The Sunshine Sprint committee aims to continue the spirit of community involvement and
charitable giving that RIDEYELLOW embodied. The Sunshine Sprint allows participants of all
ages and fitness levels to engage in a healthy, fun, and community-centric activity while
continuing to raise awareness and funds for Rapahope and childhood cancer.
"We are incredibly excited to launch Sunshine Sprint," says Kenny Breal, president of North
Baldwin Infirmary. “RIDEYELLOW will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we are
excited to continue its mission of raising money for childhood cancer through Sunshine Sprint.
The run promotes fitness and fun and continues our mission to support local community
organizations like Rapahope.”
Participants can look forward to a picturesque course offering a mix of challenging and
enjoyable segments for serious runners and casual walkers. The event will feature:
· 8K Race: For competitive runners looking for a new challenge.
· 1-Mile Fun Run: Perfect for families, beginners, and anyone wanting to enjoy a leisurely pace.
Early registration is now open. For more information on the event, registration details, and
volunteer opportunities, please visit SunshineSprint.org.
